Honor Treadaway was born in Montgomery, AL, and has been painting, drawing, and “making things” since she was old enough to get her fingers around a crayon and redecorate her nursery.  She grew up in a home where she was exposed to the wonders of the Arts and Sciences, and was given private lessons in art, ballet, and music.

Over the years, Honor has worn many hats and been owned by many cats.  She raised two sons, Jeb and Stuart; has lived in Alabama, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Thailand; traveled extensively; experimented with as many arts and crafts as possible; tried on divers hats, such as apprentice piano technician (tuner helper) and horticulturist for Old Alabama Town; worked with youth groups, i.e. Cub Scout den mother and pianist for children's choirs, etc.  She has even been a soccer mom!

While caring for her Mother through a long terminal illness, Honor turned to painting for comfort and pleasure via Donnave Lindsey's watercolor classes.  She soon discovered that she thoroughly enjoyed painting both serious and silly portraits of cats.

Honor is a watercolor and collage artist as well as a cartoonist.  She is a free-lance horticultural writer holding a degree in Landscape and Ornamental Horticulture from Auburn University (with a minor in Medical Technology due to an interest in herbs).  “They called me 'Ol’ Harps & Flowers!'” Her articles on "Gardening Without Pain" appeared in Crone Chronicles magazine.  She also wrote newspaper articles on gardening for Southern Homes and Gardens that appeared in The Wetumpka Herald and The Montgomery Advertiser's "Living in the South".  On top of all that, she is a pianist, retired professional harpist, and harp teacher.  Her award winning work has appeared in various publications and regional shows and is included in private collections across the USA and abroad.  She has been a member of the Society of Arts and Crafts, WAOAPOA, Experimental Artists of Alabama (EAA), Montgomery Art Guild (MAG), and Elmore County Art Guild (ECAG), the American Horticulture Society (AHS) and the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen (ISFHC). Picatzo, is her trademark cartoon cat).
